Implemented Projects |

The Regional External Programs (REP) in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture delivered a workshop on Environmental pollution: Sources and Impacts of Electromagnetic Fields and Radiations to a group of Iraqi Engineers/Administrators. The workshop covered both low- frequency sources and high- frequency sources, and included classroom presentations, practical laboratory, measurement sessions, and a field trip.

Leaders for Democracy Fellowship Program (LDF): REP in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts & Sciences implemented the LDF program for the Middle East & North Africa in partnership with Syracuse University. The program encompassed theoretical material, delivered by leading academicians at AUB, and practical expertise by drawing on the experience of top practitioners from the Lebanese public, private, and non-governmental sectors

Iraq Emergency Medical Services Capacity Building Program: REP in collaboration with the AUB Medical Center and the World Health Organization worked to build the capacity of Iraqi Ministry of Health professionals in the field of emergency medicine through a series of training the trainer workshops.
- Executive Education Program for Nissan Gulf FZCO: REP in collaboration with the Suliman S. Olayan School of Business delivered a customized executive education program covering major management issues, best practices in management systems, operations, strategic analysis, planning, customer relations, innovation and performance management in the automotive indsutry, designed for the company’s various dealers in the Middle East and North Africa.

Current Projects |
- Developing Rehabilitation Assistance to Schools and Teacher Improvement (D-RASATI) Project: REP, in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts & Sciences, joined a consortium headed by the Education Development Center in Washington DC. The team seeks to build the capacity of the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE) and the Center for Educational Research and Development (CERD) to empower and support school communities to define and manage their own process of school improvement.
- Basra Children Hospital’s Capacity Building Program: REP is collaborating with the World Health Organization to assess the physical structure, staffing, training needs, and skill gaps of the Hospital in an effort to prepare a Hospital assessment report and capacity building road map.
- Technical Assistance to Fahad Bin Sultan University (FBSU): REP continues to provide technical assistance to FBSU for the assessment of current programs and establishing new programs for the Colleges of Business, Engineering and Computing in addition to the design of academic and administrative policies and procedures. FBSU is the first private, English-speaking University in northern Saudi Arabia. In June 2009, the first class of graduates was awarded their degrees.
