Hi Frashad,
There is no soccer if the USA National team can't pull through their last 2 games. I'm utterly disappointed. How does it feel to pull for a consistent team?:)
I can't thank you enough for the time in Beirut Frashad. The Ambassador program was much more than I'd hoped for. Prior to meeting you through the program, Lebanon was the airport, AUB, and my classmates. Beirut was richer after only a few commutes with you to your home. You have an aged perspective on the buildings and the people that only a resident can have.
Opening your home, your family, and your photo albums up, again, really brought Beirut and Lebanon down to Earth -- as places where people grow up, live and work. Most of what I read prior to stepping on the plane to Beirut was about Phonecians, Othoman Empire, and the Civil War. But, it all really paled in comparison to seeing the hospital where you were born, sharing your food, hearingabout your family, and just watching movies at your house.
So, for me, the Ambassador Program was really about experiencing your Lebanon and just getting to make feinds with someone whose interested in sharing with a newcomer.
You know if you ever come to the US or North Carolina, you'll have a place to stay. I'll definately give you a ring when I return to Beirut.
Side note: my mom called Tony after the NYC/Pentagon attacks and said he was amazingly nice and really helped to soothe her nerves. He knew exactly who she is, too. I was really touched . Thank you for mentioning my family to him. Please also tell your mom and Kelly 'hello'.
-Bryan
