SPARROWS FLY HIGH INTO THE SUNSET
|
With precision aerial maneuvers the Morning Sparrows pecked their way to victory and devouring the Night Hawks by winning 6 of the 11 scheduled events and tying in 3 to even the overall monthly contests 2 wins each. Behind by 9 points with only the last event to be played worth 10 total points, the Hawks feverishly made a gallant effort to be victorious. In the end, time was not on their side and the event ended in another tie, giving the Sparrows a 20-11 and the opportunity to puff out their brightly colored chests once more with PRIDE. The Hawks flew off blaming poor officiating as the cause for their demise, but confident that their aquatic skills will be superior in the final event of Water Cage Ball scheduled for Thursday, May 21. |

LOOSE WEIGHT AREA
|
No doubt, everyone has recognized that the loose weight fitness area is crowded during the evening hours. To accommodate members and students we’ve developed a time-sharing strategy that has helped some. University Sports is appealing to students and members alike to abide by the times allocated in the evening, Monday through Friday and also not to bring clothing, bags, books, etc. into the already crowded fitness area. We further request that students review their schedules again and if possible select alternate times during the week to workout other than 7:00 p.m.
Be assured that the Administration is aware of the crowded condition and is reviewing ways to alleviate the condition in the future. In the meantime, your continued cooperation and patience is appreciated.

SPARROWS HAVE WINGS CLIPPED
| The battle wasn’t pretty as the Morning Sparrows and Night Hawks fumbled their way through what almost resembled volleyball, but in the end the Night Hawks flew high with a 31-29 overtime victory for a 2 events to 1 lead in the annual competition. With most of the Night Hawks grounded by an unexpected ice storm, the remaining squadron of Hawks challenged the Morning Sparrows who fought fiercely to protect the nest. One Sparrow even sustained an injured wing during the battle but refused to succumb to injury returning almost immediately to the battle front. In the end, with both teams exhausted from battle, the Sparrows flew away in a disarrayed formation shouting “we’ll get our revenge when we meet again for the 16 event Decathlon on Thursday, March 19 at 2:00 p.m.” The Night Hawks responded by circling the volleyball court with their traditional wing flapping victory flight, proud of their temporary reign over the nest. |

With revenge in their eyes for the humiliating defeat in basketball last month, the Night Hawks mounted an impressive aerial attack against the seemingly defenseless Morning Sparrows for a 7-3 victory in Foot ball on January 22. Afterwards the Morning Sparrows echoed that some of their best players flew south for the winter but will return for the Volleyball contest scheduled for Tuesday, February 24 at 2:00 p.m. With one victory each under their wings, the volleyball contest is destined to determine air superiority over the CHSC complex. |

SPARROWS RULE THE NEST
With talons drawn and beaks sharpened the game was on!
The Morning Sparrows might be small, but they were mighty
as they spread their wings and pecked away at the Night
Hawks for a 28-18 basketball victory in the first of four
scheduled events of the year. The Hawks swore revenge
when they meet again on January 15 for Foot ball on the
Green Field. But for now, the Sparrows rule the nest as the
Hawks fly off into the sunset to plan their next games strategy.
Nice job Sparrows and Hawks and remember whether a Sparrow
or a Hawk we are all still birds and part of the same family!
