Live Orientation Sessions

SML has been active in providing live-orientation lectures for more then twenty years. The aim of these lectures is to introduce users to major SML and Internet resources of information in the medical and health related fields, and to develop effective end-user searching and information retrieval skills.

These live-lectures can be either provided at SML classroom or outside the Library. They can take different forms:

  • One-hour lecture : given regularly every Monday at 6:00 p.m. Registration is not required and all are welcome to attend (AUB as well as non-AUB).

  •  Course-related instruction : A faculty member may arrange for the reference librarian to give a course-related instruction to his/her students, by contacting the Reference Librarian ahead of time.

  •  One-day workshops or seminars : upon request, a comprehensive informative one-day workshop or seminar may be given by contacting the Reference Librarian.

  • IDTH 301 a 2-credit course given to graduates of the Medical School every Fall.
