How will AUB be different from high school?

Important transitions in your educational experience always have their difficulties. Moving into a new environment with new expectations will present challenges! Please find out whom you should contact if you need a specific kind of help. The AUB community has many resources for you.

At AUB you will be expected to take responsibility for your education in ways that were not required of you before. No one will necessarily know all the details of your program at AUB except you! So you must follow up personally with your advisor, during specified office hours, to make sure that your academic program is appropriately planned and scheduled. You will be responsible for registration deadlines and for knowing the academic policies and procedures necessary to function well at AUB. If you are having difficulties with academic or personal issues, it is up to you to seek out your advisor or the AUB counselor.

Along with more responsibility, you will also have more freedoms, both academic and social. You will have choices to make about your academic program, about your life-style, and about the friends you will have at AUB. Be sure that you are aware of the policies and procedures that will affect you. The social fabric of the AUB community is carefully woven together with standards and expectations for faculty and students. You will be a part of our community, invited to participate freely in all aspects of student life, but also responsible for respecting and preserving the community.
