Six major buildings form the Medical Center: Outpatient Department, Medical Pavilion, Surgical Services, Obstetrics, Gynecology and Pediatrics, and Clinical Laboratories.

These structures have been built, renovated and expanded over a number of years , mostly in the last 30 years. The Rockefeller Foundation provided considerable sums of money to construct such parts of the University Hospital as the Outpatient Department building
