![]() Hepatitis B can be transmitted, usually via introduction of contaminated blood beneath the skin or onto mucosal surfaces. Vaccine should be given routinely to children and personnel of institutions in which Hepatitis is endemic. Following exposure, Hepatitis B Immune Globulin (HBIG), vaccine are indicated. All personnel at high risk receive Hepatitis B vaccine at 0, 1 and 6 months (Nurses, medical laboratory employees, doctors, medical students, BT and practical students.)
