The following is a suggested first aid health kit that represents the minimal necessary equipment for the traveler to the developing world:

1. International Immunization Card with documentation of vaccines received
2. Appropriate medication for malaria prophylaxis
3. Mosquito repellent
4. Water purification tablets or tincture of iodine, and/or water filters
5. Oral rehydration salt packets
6. Antimicrobial medication for treatment or prevention of diarrhea as arranged with the traveler's physician
7. Imodium or Lomotil
8. Sunscreen
9. Bandaids (for blisters)
10. A spare pair of glasses or at least the lens prescription
11. Any prescription medication the travler takes regularly
12. The traveler's favorite "cold" remedy
13. Fever thermometer
14. Aspirin or acetaminophen (paracetamol in most other countries)
15. Astringent or antiseptic
16. Antifungal powder
17. Toilet paper
