Medical Services at UHS
All doctors at UHS have
completed specialty residency training. The majority are
in Family
Medicine but we also have a dermatologist, pediatricians and internists.
All Physicians at UHS function
as primary care providers. They are capable of handling every member of the
family and the most common problems in ambulatory care. Should the patient
need any particular specialty care, our doctors will promptly refer him/her
as needed. UHS doctors also
offer minor surgical procedures including minor skin operations as well as prenatal
care and routine gynecology.
The range of services includes:
- Comprehensive care for
the entire family
- Emphasis on disease
prevention and health promotion
- Child, adolescent and
adult medicine
- Routine well-baby and
well-child care
- Geriatric care Health
care for women including screening for abnormal Pap smears
- Minor surgery and
procedures in the office
By a special arrangement with HIP, direct access to
obstetrical and eye care is offered to our clients. After due evaluation by a
nurse, patients may be immediately transferred to Eye or Obstetric care upon
their own request. The nurse may give any person who requests and indeed
requires an eye check, one consultation slip once per year. She may also do
the same for Gynecology check up. If the patient needs further evaluation by
such specialties, the patient has to see our UHS
doctor and be certified for the need for such consultation.
All the consultants are expected to send reports of their consultations
back to UHS primary care
doctors.
