Office Visits and Hours
Patients are seen daily at the Gulbenkian clinic
by appointments that can be made at the reception desk in advance, either by calling by telephone
or in person.

Office visits
Patients are received at UHS every morning at 8:00 o'clock and on.
Telephone calls are received after 8:30 to give
chance to the front desk employees to respond to the load of patients showing
up every morning (some 20 to 30 patients show up between 8 and 9 AM). We receive daily around 50
appointments and 50 to 60 patients without appointments. Patients without
appointments are distributed to the available
doctors every other hour. Patients who show up without an appointment must
have problems of an urgent nature to be seen the same day; otherwise, they
are triaged and given return appointment for later time
.
Schedules of office
hours, names of
physicians on call at all times including night and weekend together with
their paging number and cellular phone number are printed out monthly and
distributed to various departments including the operator, Emergency room,
Students dormitories and to the heads of departments.
