Faculty Services |
|
The University Libraries offer to all faculty members at AUB customized services to suit their teaching and research needs. These services are:
General Services
- Renew my Borrowed Books - My Library Account
You may renew your borrowed books online, by logging in to My Library Account in the Library Catalog.
- Borrowing Privileges
You may borrow up to 100 items for a period of one year; the items may be renewed online for an additional semester only. Check here for more details.
- Recall Policy
If requested by another borrower, the University Libraries reserve the right to recall borrowed books after at least two weeks of use. When a library material is recalled, a recall notice will automatically be sent to the borrower’s AUB email informing him/her that the material is needed by another borrower and asking him/her to return it within one week. Failure to return a recalled item within the seven days period will incur a fine of $1.00 per day (faculty exempted), and the patron will be blocked from borrowing until the item is returned. When the borrowed item is returned to the library, the requesting user is notified by email and the item is put on hold for him for no longer that 72 hours.
- Borrowing Authorization
You may use the Borrowing Authorization Form (Faculty only) to permit your student/graduate assistant to borrow library items on your behalf. Once you submit the form, you will be personally responsible for renewing or returning all borrowed items.
Note: this form is accessible ON-CAMPUS only. For more information, contact the Access Services Librarian at ext. 2619, or email circulation@aub.edu.lb
- Order an Article
If you cannot find an article in the library collections, you may order it through the Document Delivery Services (DDS): Fill out this FORM (authentication/ AUBnet Account required). Learn more about DDS.
Faculty Assistants filling the form on behalf of a faculty member may use this FORM. Form should be sent to the concerned faculty for final approval. Faculty will forward the order to the Library for processing.
- Order a New Library Item
You may order a new book or any other item to be added to the library collections: Fill out the Order New Title. Use My Library Account on the Library Catalog page to add, or follow up on your orders.
Faculty Assistants may fill out the form on your behalf using the departmental account(name/barcode/password) assigned by the library to each department/faculty/school. Check with the Acquisitions Department for assistance: email: acquis@aub.edu.lb or call ext. 2628, 2615/16.
