Projects - Wild Plant Walks

There’s no better way to learn about plants than from the plants themselves! Field trips, Wild Plant Walks (WPWs), will be held in various locations around the country so that we can be more aware of the great plant diversity in our country. The primary goal of this series of WPWs is educating the public and us on native plants and promoting appreciation for, and conservation of our native flora and its habitat.

Our field trips, offer fun opportunity to get out and explore Lebanon’s native flora and enjoy its beauty. We aim at walking short and easy trails ca. 3-4 km, which enables us to see more diversity and at the same time have the time to identify, photograph and talk about plants.

The trips are led by professional botanists, natural scientists, and knowledgeable people in plant life and the areas visited who will share tips to help you remember and identify the plants. Regular guides are Nisrine Machaka-Houri, Mohammad Al-Zein and Mariana Yazbek.
