AUB's newest educational offerings include reinstated PhD programs in eight separate fields many of which contribute to enhancing research in interdisciplinary areas related to energy and natural resources including all engineering PhD programs and the physics PhD program. In addition to the PhD programs that were introduced in Fall of 2007, an applied energy master degree program was started in Fall of 2008 and an undergraduate program in chemical engineering was launched in Fall 2009. Below is a summary of existing and new degree programs which contribute to education and research in energy and/or environment studies. A number of minors in applied energy, petroleum engineering and chemical engineering were also introduced.
