The Center collaborates with many partner schools to create public mosaic benches to beautify and bring creativity to the environments of the children we serve.
The Mosaic Bench projects develop and encourage a sense of community among the youth who co-create them.
With the collaboration of students from Aarsal and Ain Zebde, as well as the American Community School, four mosaic benches were built in two locations, bringing the joys of art and nature into the Bekaa.
This project seeks to teach the youth we serve mosaic bench tiling and teamwork skills while making their surroundings a more positive and colorful environment.
Artist Mr. Wassim Kays worked with the youth on nature themed designs. About 14 kids participated in this mosaic bench project per day. The Center is working to make this a future ongoing project for the youth.
The Center hopes that creating this wonderful piece of artwork will encourage a sense of community and pride among the participating youth. It will not only provide them with a constructive experience but will also introduce them to art and nature as positive influences in their lives. |
