The Radiation Protection Handbook specifies the procedures and requirements that shall be used to evaluate or control exposure to radiation and that shall be applied to reduce, to an as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) level, the amount of radiation to which any person may be exposed. It is intended to prevent American University of Beirut personnel from causing any individual to be exposed to radiation in excess of the limits in this handbook. It contains a series of provisions and recommendations which should be interpreted with scientific judgment in their application of a particular problem.
