Services Provided by the Health Physics Services Division
The Health Physics Services Division is in charge of managing and implementing the University Radiation Safety program. The services provided by the Health Physics Services Division involve but are not limited to:
- Generate and review specific policies and standard operating procedures pertaining to the use of ionizing radiation.
- Provide yearly training sessions to all users of ionizing radiation at AUB.
- Carry out routine inspections of laboratories.

Manage and implement the Iodine Therapy Survey Program.

Manage and implement the Radiation Exposure Monitoring program.

Manage and implement the Radioactive Materials Purchasing Program.

Manage and implement the Radioactive Waste Management Program.

Carry out monthly contamination surveys of all laboratories and radiation work areas.

Quality Control on all radiation detectors and counters.
- Liquid Scintillation Counting for all researchers.
