  • The Board of Trustees

    ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Board of Trustees governs the university by establishing policy and exercising fiduciary responsibility for the long-term well-being of the institution. The board and its Executive Committee act on the recommendations from board committees, university offices, and the University Senate. 

    Board Framework

    The Board

    • Up to 45 active positions (renewable three-year terms up to 75 years of age)
    • Serve three-year initial term; three-year renewable terms may follow

    Alumni-Elected Trustees

    • Three alumni are recommended for board membership through an election process by the Worldwide Alumni Association of AUB (WAAAUB)
    • In each election cycle, there will be one position out of three for an alumnus or alumna who graduated within the past 10 years
    • Alumni-elected trustees will serve for one three-year term only

    Trustees Emeriti​

    • May attend board meetings; do not vote
