 Ghassan Abou-Alfa

An alumni trustee effective March 19, 2020, Abou-Alfa (BS ’88, MD ’92) is a professor of medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Weill Medical College at Cornell University. He has been chair of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Hepatobiliary Task Force since 2012 and is the president of the International Society of Gastrointestinal Oncology. Abou-Alfa has been a co-leader with EVP Dr. Mohamed Sayegh of the Joint AUB and Memorial Sloan Kettering academic and research collaborative effort since 2005. He is also a co-contributor, with his wife Dr. Eileen O'Reilly, to the AUB Trinity Endowed Exchange Program for Medical Students. Abou-Alfa received a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2016.  He is  graduate of Columbia University (MBA ’16).
