Leila A. Bissat

An alumni trustee effective March 19, 2020, Bissat (BA ’76) is a travel writer who wrote and published two travel diaries, “Of Symbols and Stones” (‘07), and “Of Whispers and Winds” (‘17). Bissat is a member of the Baalbeck International Festival, a founding member of the Friends of the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra, a member of the Next Step Association, and a founding member of the Ajialouna Association. From 1993 to 2012, she was the owner of Arche de Noé, a children’s bookstore and activity center in Ras Beirut that provided cultural and educational activities for children and young people. Bissat is also a member of the President’s Club, a member of the Society of the Friends of the AUB Museum, and a founding member and president of the Executive Committee of the Zaki Nassif Program Friends Club.​
