The chairman of the Kuwait Society for the Advancement of Arab Children since 1981, Dr. Al-Ebraheem is a leading figure in Kuwaiti education. During the 1970s he was dean of the College of Commerce and Political Science, and the rector of Kuwait University. From 1985 to 1986 he served his government as minister of education. In 1989, Dr. Al-Ebraheem was presented a medal for his role in promoting the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies by Georgetown University, with which he has a long association. He is a widely published author whose book Kuwait: A Political Study was named the best book on Kuwait by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information. Dr. Al-Ebraheem received his doctorate in international relations from Indiana University.
