Health Promotion and Community Health Department
Health promotion helps individuals, families, and communities gain control over their health and engage in healthy behaviors.
The HPCH department enhances the students’ ability to develop, implement, and evaluate interventions to promote health. The department offers courses that introduce students to the social context of health and to the multi-level factors influencing behavior change. 
The department offers a concentration in Health Promotion and Community Health for the Master of Public Health (MPH) at the graduate level. ​

Degrees and Programs

  • ​Master of Public Health in Health Promotion and Community Health (HPCH)
Students concentrating in HPCH acquire a broad understanding of the underlying determinants of health and community health. Students are prepared to design, implement, and evaluate interventions to promote health of groups and communities using participatory approaches.
