USAID funded USP VII cycle 3 scholar Mohamad Wehbe chose to intern with Souboul Al Salam organization between July and August 2021. Located in Minieh-Denieh, (North Lebanon), the organization provides relief and humanitarian assistance to vulnerable Lebanese residents and Syrian refugees. Not only do they respond to medical emergencies, but also conduct regular assessments to offer food and clothes donations for those in need.
Mohamad handled emergency calls and communicated information to the concerned personnel, helped in preparing and sorting food packages and clothes, among others. He also attended training workshops to acquire basic first-aid knowledge essential in creating confidence to act in certain non-medical day-to-day conditions.
Mohamad highlighted the added value of such experience in heightening his responsibility towards his community, in addition to contributing to his inter-personal skills.
