  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. Serials and Electronic Resources Department

Mission Statement

The mission of the Serials and Electronic Resources Department is to develop, acquire, catalog, and maintain the electronic resources collection as well as the serials collection in print, microform, and electronic formats. The Department maintains a central record for all serial holdings and electronic resources of the University Library.

Objectives and Functions

Develop a serials and electronic resources collection focused on the curriculum and the research programs of the University. Develop a collection which is comprehensive on Arab, Islamic, and Middle Eastern and related studies as well as in fields that support academic programs offered by the University.
The Department shall be up-to-date with all the advances in the information technology field related to the serials and electronic resources collection.
The Department manages the binding at the University Libraries.
