The University Libraries partnered with The Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD) during the “Arab Renaissance: Renewal of the Civilizational Message” conference in Amman, held on April 25 and 26, 2018.
The conference was organized by The Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development
and featured the discourse of prominent Muslim and Arab philosophers concerning the need for a new renaissance in the Islamic and Arab political thinking. Dr. Mariette Atallah, Head of the Collection Development Department, participated in organizing an exhibit of library collections on the Arab Nahda. Fatmeh Charafeddine, Head of the Research and Instruction Services Department, gave a presentation
on the importance of the Nahda collections held at AUB and about the wide interest of researchers from all over the world in this collection.
Among the attendees of the conference from AUB were Dr. Tarek Mitri as speaker and Dr. Rana Issa as moderator.
