The AUB University Libraries (UL) has recently added a few necessary subscriptions during 2021, strengthening its specialized databases and e-books packages with budget-friendly resources.
We invite the community members to explore these databases and enjoy the exclusive access they have to them.
1- Academic Video Online: Eastern Version
A comprehensive video collection published by Alexander Street video from ProQuest. The collection includes documentaries, feature films, interviews, performances, skills-based training videos, demonstrations, and more. Academic Video Online covers a wide range of topics from anthropology to zoology including art, business, media studies, education, music, dance, theater and much more.

2- Al Sharekh Archives = أرشيف الشارخ
An Arabic digitization initiative focusing on the content of literary journals. The Archives provide open access to the content of 228 Arabic literary journals, from 23 Arab countries, dating from the early Arab renaissance (al Nahda) in the mid-nineteenth century to the end of the twenty-first century. Among the journals are Al-Muqtataf, Al-Muqtabas, Al-Hilal, Al-Adib, Al-Ustadh, Al-Mashriq, Al-Jamaa and others.

3- Bloomsbury e-Books
eBook collections in the arts, humanities and social sciences. Collections available include: African studies, biblical studies, fashion, philosophy, theology, classical studies, film and media, law, Middle East, politics, art, linguistics, religious studies, education, history, literary studies, and sociology.

4- Bloomsbury Philosophy Library
A digital library that provides access to specialized philosophy collections: Bloomsbury History of Modern Aesthetics, Bloomsbury 20th Century French Thought, and Bloomsbury Encyclopedia of Philosophers. Content set includes access to primary texts in translation, newly-digitized modern sources, secondary literature eBooks, exclusive articles and encyclopedia entries.

5- Cumhuriyet
Cumhuriyet (“The Republic") is the oldest secular Turkish daily newspaper. Over the years, Cumhuriyet has stood witness to the changing landscape of Turkey's political, social and economic environment. The newspaper has sustained its coverage of domestic and international news, providing critical documentation of Turkey's dynamic history and its relations with the global community.

6- Le Monde
Le Monde is a French newspaper and a key source for researching French history and culture. It also offers insightful perspectives on some of the most tumultuous time periods in Europe's past, covering leading issues and events, like World War II, to French, European and international politics. Users can retrieve all types of content including news articles, photos, advertisements, obituaries, cartoons and more.
