The University Libraries is always on the lookout to develop its collections in order to best support research and teaching at AUB.
Recently, the UL has expanded its e-book offerings immensely, and now library users have a huge number of e-Books at their fingertips.
More than 800,000 scholarly books from major publishers and university presses are now available as e-Books and are accessible via the library’s list of e-books.
Most of the acquired e-Books are fully searchable and allow for unlimited user access so that multiple people can read them at the same time.

Early Arabic Printed Books from the British Library or أمهات الكتب العربية المطبوعة من المكتبة البريطانية is a digital library of pre-20th century Arabic printed books. This historical collection includes a wide range of works that were published over a period of 400 years, from the 15th to 19th centuries. The collection is particularly strong in the following areas: Classical texts of Islamic scholarship, Arabic literary writing, Rare 18th-century publications from presses in the Levant, Early Arabic books printed in Alexandria on presses brought into Egypt by the French, Bulaq printing, Early Arabic journals, and newspapers. The collection is intended for historical, Islamic, linguistics and literary research purposes. AUB researchers from the Center of Arab and Middle Eastern Studies (CAMS), Center for Arabic and Islamic Science and Philosophy, and Department of History will highly benefit from this collection. A digitized collection of rare books and incunabula printed in Europe or in European languages from 1450-1700. The collection offers full-color, high-resolution facsimile images scanned directly from the original printed sources and mainly consists of non-English materials. It is a good resource for AUB researchers interested in the history of Europe. The collection is built in partnership with major European libraries: The Royal Library (Copenhagen, Denmark), National Central Library in Florence (Florence, Italy), The National Library (The Hague, The Netherlands), Wellcome Library (London, UK), and National Library of France (Paris, France).

Eighteenth-Century Collections Online
The collection is a comprehensive digital edition of “The Eighteen Century”, the world’s largest library of the printed book on microfilm. It contains every significant English-language and foreign-language title (more than 180,000 titles) printed in the United Kingdom between 1701 and 1800. It is an excellent resource for AUB researchers in the eighteen century and the period of the Enlightenment in Great Britain.
