REMINDER: The Zurayk exhibit goes on until November 4th at the Mahmoud Malhas Common Room in West Hall between 9:00 am and 5:00 p.m.
The AUB Libraries is pleased to announce the receipt of the Constantine Zurayk Archive, a collection of papers, letters, documents, photos, etc. related to the late Dr. Constantine Zurayk, which was generously donated by his family. The massive and valuable Archive—some 19 feet– is a true testimony to Dr. Zurayk’s contribution to Arab societies, his sustained efforts at educational institutions building in the Arab world, his commitment to many causes and concerns of centrality to Arab societies, and his great influence on an entire generation of Arabs. The Collection is a true gem, and a much-valued addition to the Libraries’ Collections, one that will make a serious dent in documenting our modern Arab history.
The announcement of the receipt of the Archive is conjoined with a one-day seminar, “In Remembrance of Constantine Zurayk”, October, 31st, which will feature many world-class speakers, as detailed below. It will also feature an accompanying exhibit of the archival collection, between October 31st and November 4th, at the Mahmoud Malhas Common Room, West Hall, which will showcase select items from the Zurayk Archive.
