The University Libraries’ management and staff wish all the best to Hanna Bassar, who retired this October, after serving the AUB community for more than 40 years.
“Best regards and wishes to our colleague, Hanna Bassar, who gave AUB and Jafet Library 42 years of loyalty and silent work. Hanna retired today silently….the way he wished. He never “over-breaked”, never complained and was respected by all. From my personal contact with him, I knew that he was kidnapped twice during the civil war while crossing the divided Beirut to come to work. I think he is an excellent example of service, wisdom, and discipline. Let us all wish him good health and more achievements.” wrote Ziad Kaj, a UL staff member.
Best of luck, Hanna, and may you have a long, peaceful and healthy retirement. . .
