Lebanese Library Association Webinar- “Social Media for Strong Library Digital Presence: Insights from AUB Libraries”

​​On the evening of the 31st of March, Joyce Aways, Research & Instruction Services Librarian and Social Media manager at the University Libraries presented, along with Mr. Nidal Mawas, Digital Media Director at AUB, in a webinar organized by the Lebanese Library Association entitled “Social Media for Strong Library Digital Presence: Insights from AUB Libraries".

During the webinar, which was attended virtually by librarians and LLA members from different institutions across Lebanon and the region, Nidal Mawas highlighted social media basics and delved into the techniques and strategies for a winning recipe for social media. He also highlighted terms needed to brainstorm, implement, and measure a successful social media strategy, such as: content creation, content curation, content seeding, and others. Nidal also built on successful case studies from AUB's social media platforms.

The AUB Libraries' presence on social media has grown remarkably in the last decade and has become key in communicating with library users. During the webinar, Joyce shared insights on the strategy and the successful approaches applied by the AUB libraries for consistent and positive social media interaction, and provided real life examples, designs, and content samples.
