Dalal Rahme, Data Services Librarian at the AUB University Libraries, presented during AUB's Eleventh International Conference on Effective Teach ing and Learning in Higher Education, held online on April 8, 2022.
Her presentation, entitled “Open Educational Resources: Is it worth it?", tackled the importance of Open Educational Resources for teaching and learning and introduced the Open Education Resources (OER) initiative at AUB, discussing the work that the project team members are currently doing and their planned initiatives for the coming year.
Dalal also shared some insight from the responses from a survey which was sent earlier for collecting feedback, and which showed how faculty members want to learn more about OER, and how students are not buying course materials most of the time.
At the end of the presentation, Dalal closed by elaborating on the role of the library in creating awareness about OER and in assisting faculty members in finding, sharing, and adopting open educational resources as needed in their teaching.
The recording of the presentation will be available soon.
