AUB Libraries received a full text digital copy of the Nahda periodical, Thamarat al-Funun 1875-1908

The AUB University Libraries are glad to announce that they have received a full-text digital copy of the Nahda periodical, Thamarat al-Funun years 1875 to 1908, as part of an agreement signed with Mrs. Inaam Kabbani, the grand-daughter of Abdel-Qader Kabbani, the founder of Thamarat al-Funun.

Mrs. Kabbani has provided the Libraries with the digital copy of the periodical on an Open Access basis so that researchers from all over the world can access the full text of all content from all available issues.

Mrs. Kabbani has worked for several years to collect all the missing issues that were dispersed in different countries to be able to assemble and re-type the journal according to its initial format.

Thamarat al-Funun represents a primary source for researchers, covering the history of the Middle East during the Ottoman period (1875-1908). This project is in progress, and the digital copy will be available soon for all researchers in the AUB Libraries Digital Collections.
