Exhibit: Stories of Women from the Archives

On the occasion of the Coed Centennial, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Dean's Office and University Libraries Archives and Special Collections Department organized an exhibit featuring salient women collections. The physical exhibit was held in December of 2021, with collections depicting the sociocultural history of AUB, Lebanon, and the Middle East in general.

The exhibit featured several unique items displayed for the first time, including:

  • A letter by the famous May Ziadeh supporting AUB's coeducation 
  • First AUB thesis on Moslem women status by an Indian student (MA 1909)  
  • Reem Acra first fashion show at AUB (BA 1982) 
  • Evelyn Bustrus diary  
  • 19th century manuscripts copied by women scribes, and many more.
