Faculty and Staff Responsibilities

​​AUB has designated the following individuals as mandatory reporters of suspected or actual sex-based discrimination (including sexual harassment and sexual violence) that occurs on-campus or off-campus at AUB/AUBMC activities:

  • All faculty, physicians, professional managerial-level and supervisory staff
  • Protection officers
  • Medical residents
  • Residence hall (dorm) staff and monitors 

Infomation is provided below to help mandatory reporters understand their responsibilities—what to report, and how to report. Mandatory reporters support collective efforts to address discrimination and harassment by referring individuals to the appropriate resources, and by ensuring that the university is aware of incidents and patterns. AUB is guided by the goal of empowering those impacted and allowing them to retain as much control as possible. At the same time, the university is committed to taking action—and may be required by law to do so—if it learns of prohibited conduct such sexual harassment, even if an individual does not wish to file a formal complaint. ​
