Charles Hostler Diet Clinic

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Diet and Sports Performance Nutrition Clinic at the Charles W. Hostler Student Center provides personalized nutrition services to AUB athletes as well as to students, faculty, staff, alumni, retirees, and guests. The clinic complements the many excellent services provided by the Charles W. Hostler Student Center. In addition to conducting nutritional screening, assessment, designing appropriate interventions, and counseling, our licensed dietitian also provides specialized support to AUB varsity team players to achieve and maintain optimal athletic performance. The clinic will also organize workshops and informational sessions on sports nutrition and healthy eating, which will be open to the community at large.


NOTE: AUB varsity team players have access to this service free of charge. Fees apply to all other categories. You can either book a full nutritional assessment or a body composition test.

  • ​Tuesday: 9:00-15:00
  • Wednesday: 9:00-15:00
  • Thursday: 9:00-15:00
  • Friday: 9:00-12:00

The Diet Clinic is located on the first floor of the Auditorium building at the Charles Hostler Student Center.​

Prepare​ For Your Appointment

The day beforeOn the day of your appointment
  • Do not consume alcohol
  • Maintain your normal fluid intake

 

  • Do not drink caffeine
  • Do not eat 3-4 hours before testing
  • Do not exercise 6-12 hours before testing
  • Use the bathroom before your appointment
  • Wear light clothing for the test and remove all metals
  • Ensure access to both feet with removable footwear and socks
  • Bring your most recent blood test results


​​​Important Notes


  • Do not test for body composition if you have medical implants such as pacemakers.
  • Women who are pregnant/menstruating are not recommended to do the body composition test.

​After Your Appointment

  • Follow-up appointments are recommended to help monitor your progress.​​​

Maria Abdelnour, Health and Sports Nutrition Specialist

Maria is a licensed clinical dietitian with a Master's degree in Nutrition from the American University of Beirut. She has worked with athletes and patients in various settings and she believes in the importance of proper nutritional habits for optimal performance, daily functioning, as well as disease prevention and management. She is highly motivated to help others adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle based on the evidence-based approaches she acquired during her training. ​​​
