  • Dr Rola Kwayess won The Nayil Al-Harith Fellowship Award.
  • Dr Zeina Kanafani won the AUB Teaching Excellence Award 2024 (speech)​.
  • Dr Nathalie El Khoury Juri received the Outstanding Abstract Award for her Abstract "Des-Ciclesonide: A Novel Selective Glucocorticoid Receptor Modulator With Therapeutic Potential for Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia, a Chronic Lung Disease of Prematurity" at ENDO 2024.
  • Dr Caline Rhayem won the Travel Award sponsored by the endocrine Society for her abstract "Secular Trend in Hip Fracture Mortality and Predictors of Mortality from the NSQIP Database".​
  • Dr Mohamad El Moheb received a highly competitive Research Trainee Fellowship Award from the Association for Academic Surgery.​​

2023

  • Dr Nathalie El Khoury Juri received an award at the Great Lakes Nuclear Receptor Conference and that award granted her a year-long Endocrine Society membership.
  • Dr Farah Jaber received an award In Recognition for an Outstanding Contribution to the Fellowship and Residency Research Program (FRRP).
  • ​Dr Bashar Hassan received the 2023 Postdoctoral Excellence in Mentorship Award from the University of Maryland.​
  • Dr Ghada El-Hajj Fuleihan was honored the Dean’s Excellence Award for Research.
  • Dr Abla Mehio Sibai received jointly the esteemed "State of Kuwait Health Promotion Foundation's His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Prize for Research in Health Care for the Elderly and in Health Promotion" award.
  • Dr Caline Rhayem won the Best Oral Presentations by graduating clinical fellows “Obesity pharmacotherapy in the pipeline: a systematic review", Fellowship and Residency Research Program (FRRP)”.
  • Dr Hani Tamim received a trophy in recognition of Co-Founding the Fellowship and Residency Research Program (FRRP) at the 10th Annual Open House awards ceremony.
  • Dr Hisham Bou Fakhreddine was honored the AUBMC Interdisciplinary Physician of the Year, American University of Beirut Medical Center.
  • ​Dr Bashar Hassan presentation was selected as the Outstanding Paper Presentation of the Craniomaxillofacial 11 abstract session during Plastic Surgery The Meeting 2023 in Austin, Texas.
  • ​Dr Bashar Hassan received the Outstanding Mentor Recognition Award.​​
  • Dr Rami Kantar was selected as an Outstanding Associate Editor Frontiers in Surgery – Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery Section.
  • Dr Mohamad El Moheb received the Alpha Omega Alpha Postgraduate Fellowship Award.​​
  • Dr Mohamad El Moheb won the Muller Jones Kron Society Fund for Research and Innovation.
  • Dr Jad Zeytoun was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
  • Dr Tedy Sawma received the ALMA scholarship, American Lebanese Medical Association.
  • Dr Tedy Sawma honored the Alpha Omega Alpha Society Membership.
  • Dr Abdul-Hamid Bazarbachi abstract was selected as the Best Young Oral Abstracts, European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation.
  • Dr Anthony Ghanem was elected as member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Medical Society – AUB.
  • Dr Anthony Ghanem was elected as full member of Sigma Xi– The Scientific Research Honor Society – AUB.
  • Dr Caline Rhayem received the Fellowship and Residency Research Program Best Research Presentation, American University of Beirut.
  • Ms. Hana’a Abdul Salam received the Nursing Directors’ Appreciation Award, Jinan University.
  • Dr Samya El Sayed was elected as Member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor society.

2022

  • Dr El-Hajj Fuleihan was honored the Farouk Jabr Collaborative Grant American University of Beirut.
  • Dr Abla Mehio Sibai was honored the ​Women in Science Awards in recognition of her pioneering research and efforts in improving the conditions of aging in low and middle-income countries.
  • Dr El-Hajj Fuleihan was honored the Board Designated Professorship.
  • Congratulations to Dr Elie Akl and Dr Marlene Chakhtoura for having their mentees receive awards for Best Proposals of the Faculty Advancement Program (FAP).​​
  • Congratulations to Dr Martine El-Bejjani for her Scholarly Concentration Track (SCT) mentee, Ms. Rawan Hammoud, receive the third prize for the SCT best presentation award, as part of the Clinical Research Open House 2022.​
  • Dr Mona Nabulsi, SHARP executive committee member, received the Faculty Advancement Program (FAP) mentor award this year, for mentoring Dr Ali Ismail who was awarded the third prize in the FAP for his research protocol entitled “Point-of-care lung ultrasound to diagnose the etiology of respiratory symptoms in hospitalized children”.
  • Dr Hisham Bou Fakhreddine honored the Gold Humanism Honor Soceity Faculty Inductee.
  • Dr Angela Massouh, Assistant Professor of Nursing in the Hariri School of Nursing and ​SHARP 2013 Summer Diploma Graduate awarded the AUB Teaching Excellence Award 2022 
  • Dr Rasha Raslan awarded the ACP Herbert S. Waxman Chief Resident Teaching Scholarship award. This award is awarded to a few chief residents every year in the United States.
  • Dr Mohamad Othman El Helou, SHARP Masters Student, on being awarded the Farouk Jabre Grant​.
  • Dr Eman Sbaity, Assistant Professor of Surgery (SHARP 2014 Graduate) was awarded the Nobel Model grant.

2021

  • ​Ms Hana'a Abdul Salam, SHARP Summer 2015 graduate awarded the Richard Hader Visionary Leader Award 2021. Named in honor of the Nursing Management journal's editor-in-chief and conference chairperson, Dr. Richard Hader, this award recognizes excellence in nursing leadership.​​
  • Dr Aya Bassatne received the Education Emerging Country Young Investigator Award, on her project entitled “Effects of Antiresorptive Therapy on Androgen Deprivation Therapy Induced Bone Loss in Men with Non-metastatic Prostate Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials”. This project is Dr Bassatne's MSc SHARP thesis project, mentored by Dr Marlene Chakhtoura.​​
  • Dr Rozana El Eid, SHARP Summer 2021 student awarded the "Best Presentation" award for the graduating residents on “Scoping Review of Osteoporosis in the Arab Region” under the mentorship of Dr. Marlene Chakhtoura, at the 8th Annual Clinical Research E-Open House.​​​​

2020

  • Dr Huda Huijer received the AAAH (Asia-Pacific Action Alliance on Human Resources for Health) Recognition Award for her work in developing the health care workforce. 
  • Drs Muhieddine Labban and Sarah Jamali, SHARP Summer 2019 graduates inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
  • Dr Abla Mehio Sibai was honored; recognized her as a world-renowned researcher, educator, activist, and advocate for healthy aging and the epidemiology of non-communicable diseases.

​2019

  • Dr Najat Saliba was announced as one of the 5 winners of the 21st International Award For Women in Science by the L’Oréal Foundation and UNESCO, which honors outstanding women scientists, from all over the world.
  • Dr Marlene Chakhtoura  received the prestigious 2019 Farouk Jabre Award. The award is a one-year grant that brings together faculty members from different backgrounds that identify a common area of interest and, using their different fields of knowledge, collaborate on a research topic.
  • Dr Abla Mehio Sibai  has been awarded “The Foundation of the State of Kuwait Prize for the Control of Cancer, Cardiovascular Diseases and Diabetes in the EMR” for 2019 by the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR) in recognition of her achievements and efforts in Cardiovascular Diseases in the region.
  • Dr Mohamad Minhem, SHARP Summer 2017 graduate, awarded the second best poster presentation at Mercy Hospital Research Day.

2018

  • Dr Vanessa Al Kamari, SHARP Summer 2016 graduate, received the New Investigator Award at the Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI), 2019 and the New Investigator Scholarship, at theNIAID/IDSA Research Career Meeting, Bethesda, MD, 2018. ​
  • Dr Nancy Nakhoul, SHARP MS graduate, won the second prize in the category of oral presentations (out of 120 asbtracts) for her paper Metabolically Healthy and Unhealthy Obese in the Lebanese Population, Are They Different? The role of non-traditional risk factors” at the 6th Annual Meeting of the American College of Endocrinology -Gulf Chapter. ​​
  • Dr Mikhael Sebaaly, SHARP MS student, won the first prize for oral presentation of his FRRP project: “Optic Nerve Measurement on MRI in the Pediatric Population: Normative Values and Correlations” at the Fifth Annual Clinical Research Open House held on May 4, 2018.

  • Dr Ghada El-Hajj Fuleihan is selected as a recipient of the 2017 Harvard T. Chan School of Public Health Award of Merit, to be awarded at the Alumni annual meeting that will take place on Saturday October 14th, at Harvard T. Chan School of Public Health, Boston, MA. The Award of Merit is the highest School honor recognizing the extraordinary achievements of select alumni.  Read More​
  • Dr Marlene Chakhtoura  received the 2017 Early Investigators Award. This award assists in the development of early career investigators and recognition of their accomplishments in areas of diabetes and metabolic bone. Read More​
  • Laila Al-Shaar was awarded a 2 years grant by the AHA for her proposal entitled "BMI and physical activity in relation to outcomes after myocardial infarction: Analysis of two prospective cohort studies". Read More
  • Karine Al Feghali, SHARP MS graduate, won the first prize at the Clinical Research Open House. Her poster was based on her SHARP MS Thesis “Prophylactic Cranial Irradiation in Patients with Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials.”
  • Laila Al Shaar Poster entitled "Weight Change BMI and Mortality after Myocardial Infarction: Analysis of Two Prospective Cohort Studies" was presented at Poster Day (April 26, 2017) of the Harvard T.Chan School of Public Health. The poster won the Audience Favorite Award based on votes from all meeting attendees.

  • Dr Huda Huijer received the Princess Mona Regional Award for Excellence in Nursing for 2017 in Amman Jordan in recognition of significant contributions to health care and the nursing profession.
  • Dr Marlene Chakhtoura, MD, MSc, received an award for outstanding poster presentation (category of Epidemiology) during the 7th Annual AUB Biomedical Research Day that was held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at West Hall. The poster was one of the top 12 out of 122 posters presented.
