Second Degree

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Who can apply for a second degree? ​

Candidates who have completed a bachelor degree (BA or BS) and are interested in completing a second degree. ​


    AUB graduates who've been away from AUB for less than two years after graduation, must contact the Office of the Registrar on: and inquire about the application for the second degree.

    Non AUB graduates or AUB graduates who've been away from AUB for more than two years after graduation, should submit an admissions application with the following:

    1. Official undergraduate university transcripts
    2. Detailed courses syllabi for all courses taken. This is needed to see which courses will match AUB courses. AUB graduates are not required to submit syllabi. 
    3. Certified copy of your high school diploma or secondary school certificate, based on at least twelve years of schooling (ex: Lebanese Baccalaureate, French Baccalaureate, IB Diploma, GCE, High School Diploma etc.)
    4. English language r​equirement (upon admission)​

    IMPORTANT NOTE:  All students (Lebanese or non-Lebanese) must secure from the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE) - Equivalence Committee  (English, Arabic) (Beirut, UNESCO Palace area), either the equivalence of their diplomas or the permission to enter the freshman class.  The Equivalence Committee requires the students to have their official papers such as the original final high school or university grades and diplomas authenticated from countries where they studied: Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Lebanese Embassy.  Failure to submit the equivalence/permission to the Office of Admissions by course registration date will result in registration hold and delay/refusal of the residency permits for non-Lebanese students.


    2023-24 Second Degree 

    ​Deadline to apply for the spring 2023–24​ term is end of October 2023.

    2024-25 Second Degree ​

    The deadline to apply for the fall 2024–25 term is end of April 2024​.


    ​Applicants wishing to apply for a second degree, must do the following:

    1- ​​Apply online

    2- Check the documents requested in the application, which may include the following:
      •     Photocopy of ID or p​assport
      •     Updated official university transcript
      •     Detailed course syllabus for all courses taken
      •     ​Certified copy of high school diploma or secondary school certificate

    4- Pay the application fee ($50)

    The non-refundable application fee can be paid in one of the following ways:

    Online: You can pay (ex: with credit card) while submitting your application online.

    Cash: You can pay at the Cashier's Office in AUB, by presenting the email (application receipt) with your AUB application ID number.

    Cash at OMT: Present your confirmation email  at any OMT branch, and verify that your name and AUB ID# are correctly listed on the OMT receipt. 

    Whish Money (Whish App): You can transfer your fees directly from the Whish application or visit any Whish Money branch or agent to execute your financial transactions.​
