- Abdul Aziz and Jamileh Soueidan Excellence Endowed Award in Medicine
Conferred on a graduating student in medicine with top academic achievement who is dedicated to the profession. The award honors the legacy of Abdul Aziz Soueidan in providing educational opportunities to bright students from underprivileged communities, and honors his wife and life partner Jamileh, with whom he shared the highest of noble values that they passed on to their children.
- Dr. Abdul-Latif H. Hamdan Endowed Otolaryngology Research Award
Conferred on a chief resident who has been selected by a research committee as the author of the best research paper in the field of otolaryngology and related specialties.
- Dr. Bassem Tanios Best Resident Teacher Endowed Award
Established by the friends and colleagues of Dr. Bassem Tanios to honor his life and legacy. Dr. Tanios, who tragically passed away in October 2024, earned his MD from Lebanese University in 2007. In July 2023, he was appointed as a full-time assistant professor of clinical medicine at AUB, a position he held until the last day of his life – a life he lived more abundantly, giving and serving his community with dedication and passion during the toughest of times. The award is given to the best senior resident teacher.
- Dr. Herbert R. Nassour Jr. Surgery Residency Award
Established in 2014 by Mr. Jimmy Nassour of Austin, Texas, in honor of his father Dr. Herbert R. Nassour Jr. who earned an MD from AUB in 1942. Dr. Herbert R. Nassour Jr. dedicated his life to providing affordable healthcare to poor and disadvantaged communities in Texas. The award is given to a graduating resident in the Department of Surgery who has demonstrated a superior work ethic and clinical skills.
- Dr. Jamal Jawad Hoballah Surgical Residency Award
Given to a graduating resident in the Department of Surgery at AUBMC who demonstrates excellence in research. Dr. Hoballah is a distinguished vascular and endovascular surgeon who serves as the chair of the Department of Surgery at AUBMC. He is widely recognized for his contributions to surgical education, clinical excellence, and leadership in advancing healthcare in Lebanon and the region.
- Dr. M. Amin Arnaout Endowed Award in Medicine
Conferred on a student majoring in medicine graduating with high distinction or distinction who has demonstrated integrity, diligence, and dedication to the academic profession.
- Dr. Majid-Uddin Kazi Excellence Award in Medicine
Conferred on a graduating student in medicine with top academic achievement who has demonstrated a dedication to the profession. The award honors the legacy and memory of Dr. Majid-Uddin Kazi (1938-2019), recognizing his medical accomplishments which includes being named chief of Saudi Arabia Royal Clinics, personal physician to the king, and appointment to the position of cabinet minister.
- Dr. Ralph Said Papas Endowed Award
Bestowed on a resident or fellow in OB/GYN. Priority will be for a resident or fellow involved in very active, impactful, and productive research; and then for a resident or fellow who demonstrates excellence in teaching.
- Dr. Roland Jamil Tannous Endowed Award
Bestowed on a resident or fellow in OB/GYN who exhibits consistent compassionate care towards patients.
- Franklin Thomas Moore & Ethel Jessup Moore Memorial Prize
Awarded to an excelling medical student with a dedication to humanity and a zeal for truth.
- Hatem and Fuadi Moukaddem Endowed Award in Medicine
Conferred on a graduating student majoring in medicine with top academic achievement who demonstrates a dedication to the profession.
- Henry and Amelia Nasrallah Endowed Research Award
Awarded to a resident or fellow in the Department of Psychiatry who demonstrates a sincere interest and exhibits a track record of conducting meaningful research.
- Henry and Amelia Nasrallah Endowed Teaching Award
Awarded to a resident or fellow in the Department of Psychiatry who exhibits a track record of excellent teaching and mentoring skills.
- Munib and Angela Masri Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Award
Awarded to a medical doctor pursuing his/her fellowship training in geriatrics in the Department of Family Medicine. The fellow is selected by the Department of Family Medicine. The award will provide the recipient with a monthly stipend and cover the cost of attending an international educational conference.
- Professor Ziad Salem Oncology Fellowship Endowed Award Fund
Recognizes an outstanding fellow who exemplifies excellence in clinical care, research, professionalism, and teamwork. It honors a trainee who demonstrates a strong commitment to the field, exceptional work ethic, and a promising future in hematology-oncology. This prestigious award reflects the highest standards of dedication, integrity, scholarly achievement, and leadership potential in the specialty.
Awarded to medical graduates in Lebanon who have completed the Scholars in Health Research Program (SHARP) certificate at AUB.
- Suheil Jamil Muasher Endowed Medical Student Research Award
Awarded to a medical student in his/her early years exposed to a real research experience. Research must be completed before graduation. The students must be conducting a basic and/or a clinical medical science research with a senior mentor.
- The Medicals International Refractive Surgery Fellowship Award
Awarded to a medical doctor pursuing his/her fellowship training in refractive surgery in the Department of Ophthalmology. The fellow is selected by the Department of Ophthalmology. The award will provide the recipient with a monthly stipend and cover the cost of attending an international educational conference.
