AUB Alumni Chapter of Abu Dhabi presents AUB with generous donation

Following their annual Gala Dinner, the AUB Alumni Chapter of Abu Dhabi has presented a check to the American University of Beirut in an official ceremony on Friday September 29, attended by President Fadlo Khuri, Vice President for Advancement Imad Baalbaki, Associate Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations Salma Oueida, Abu Dhabi Chapter’s President Elias Assaf, as well as members of the chapter.

The annual Gala Dinner was organized by the Chapter and attended by AVP Oueida, the VP for the Regional External Programs Hassan Diab, the Director of the Rafic Hariri School of Nursing Huda Huijer Abu-Saadas well as His Highness Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, prominent alumni, friends, and guests.

The Chapter has consecrated $200,000 for an endowed scholarship benefiting students at the Rafic Hariri School of Nursing, and donated $50,000 to establish an endowed excellence awards for students from Abu Dhabi coming to AUB in memory of Ramzi Kteily, former President of the Chapter.

During the ceremony, the President of the chapter presented President Khuri with a symbolic trophy, and a painting commemorating the 150th anniversary of AUB by alumna Lena Kelekian, also member of the chapter’s committee.
