 Museum Recovery Fund

The August 4 explosion damaged many buildings on campus – including Post Hall, built in 1902 and home to the AUB Archaeological Museum. The five broken doors and 17 shattered windows can be replaced. Tragically, the museum’s collection also suffered: one large case containing 74 priceless glass treasures toppled over. Curator Nadine Panayot and a team of volunteers have started the recovery and conservation phase – and are hoping to be able to restore at least some of the broken glass pieces. They are also working with colleagues at other Beirut museums that were badly damaged on August 4 to help rescue their collections. You can support their efforts by donating to the Museum Recovery Fund.
