You can help secure the future of AUB and maintain security for your family by considering a planned gift to AUB, or simply including AUB in your will or estate plans. There are several types of planned gifts you can choose from. We can assist you in determining the right type of planned gift that will meet your philanthropic needs. Most donors in the US who make planned gifts select from one of the categories below:
- Bequests - One of the easiest ways to make a planned gift is to include it in your will. AUB has recently partnered with FreeWill that offers an online tool that makes it easy for anyone with assets in the US to create or update their wills. AUB is paying for this service that is available to you at no cost. You can take advantage of FreeWill's software package even if you don't include AUB in your will. We hope, of course, that you will include AUB in your will—and support a favorite initiative on campus and/or make a gift in memory of a loved one.
- Charitable Remainder Trust - A tax-exempt irrevocable trust designed to reduce the taxable income of individuals by dispersing income to the beneficiaries of the trust first, and then donating the remainder of the trust to the designated charity.
- Charitable Gift Annuity - An agreement in which a donor transfers assets to AUB in exchange for a lifetime income stream and a tax benefit.
- Charitable Lead Trust - A trust that is designed to reduce a beneficiary's taxable income by first donating a portion of the trust's income to charity.
