“The Office of Advancement develops and strengthens relationships with key AUB constituencies around the world to advance the university. The office helps to position the university by engaging alumni, supporters, and influential friends; and by securing philanthropic donations, volunteer involvement, and other support. Through our Office of Business Development, we also work closely with partners in Lebanon and the region especially in the areas of higher education, public health and healthcare services, and administration, to address some of the enormous challenges that our region faces.
The Office of Advancement, which also includes Advancement Services, Alumni Relations, Development, and the Neighborhood Initiative, supports the mission and priorities of AUB’s Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, the Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, the Rafic Hariri School of Nursing, and the Suliman S. Olayan School of Business. It works to achieve the university’s fundraising goals including increasing financial aid; reinvigorating liberal arts education; promoting interdisciplinary research relevant to the region; and VITAL 2030, a vision for AUB for the next decade and beyond.”
Imad B. Baalbaki, PhD
Senior Vice President for Advancement and Business Development
We support the university by raising funds for AUB priorities and fostering long-term relationships with alumni and friends around the world. In January 2017, AUB launched BOLDLY AUB: The Campaign to Lead, Innovate, and Serve. The goals of this ambitious $650 million fundraising campaign are to:
Enrich the educational and research experience of students and faculty
Serve the healthcare needs of the region
Prioritize innovation and entrepreneurship
Engage with communities in the region to achieve real impact
Secure the university's long-term sustainability
These are the goals we must achieve to ensure that we can continue to do what AUB has been doing for more than 154 years: advancing knowledge; providing for the healthcare needs of our community; and championing inclusivity and diversity.
The challenges before Lebanon and the region are daunting. AUB is eager to Lead efforts to overcome these challenges, to Innovate bold and effective solutions, and to continue to Serve the people of Lebanon and the region for generations to come. Please join us!
