  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Series

In line with the aims of the chair at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan series seeks to publish research focusing on the study of Islamic religious thought, Quranic studies, Belles-Lettres, Sufism, history, literature, grammar, lexicography, philology, law, art, and other aspects of the Arabic-Islamic civilization.

The two main focuses of research under the series are:

Arabic and Islamic Texts and Studies
Visual Art and Art History
