Weeds of Lebanon

The Woody Plants of AUB Campus

The campus of the American University of Beirut contains a rich variety of plant life that continues to change over the years. The author was inspired to compile this work after teaching Plant Taxonomy in the Biology department. For the benefit of biology teachers, students of plant taxonomy, and the ordinary visitor who wishes to know what he or she is looking at, this book lists 176 species of woody plants belonging to fifty-six families as well as comprehensive scientific classifications.  The common English and Arabic names are provided where possible, and the locations of the plants as of September 1990 are given.
