The docent training program of 2019 has finally come to an end on May 30th, 2019, and we can say wholeheartedly that it was a wonderful experience for both the volunteers and the trainers.
Twenty-five people enrolled in the program. The program this year was a further improvement from the Docent Training Program of Spring 2018. The docents took 12 sessions offered by 12 AUBotanic members, faculty and staff. The activities include gardening, labeling trees, learning about Quantitative Tree Risk Assessment, assisting with a tree label quality assessment, and assisting with research on the level of environmental comfort of AUB paths.
The docent training program has welcomed 8 active volunteers who have expressed interest in continuing with AUBotanic. We thank the committee members who contributed time and effort in making this program possible; Aram Yeretzian, Anis Abdallah, Beata Dreksler, Maria Gabriella Trovato, Monika Fabian, Myriam Sabbah, Nada Charara, Nayla Al Akl, Tamer Amin, Nada Sinnu, Ranim Abi Ali, Salma Talhouk, and Sana Murad.
