All trees on our campus are georeferenced and we are in the process of updating this information once the COVID-19 lockdown is lifted. A total of 10,759 trees and shrubs were documented several years ago and, with the upcoming data update exercise, we expect a decrease of this quantity due to tree aging and storm damages. However, in the coming future we are expecting a growth in the number and types of tree and shrub species of up to 50 thanks to our tree adoption
fundraising initiative within the Biodiversity Campus Campaign.
Around 25 new trees are planned for the campus, along with a Mediterranean collection consisting of more than 25 species below the Lee Observatory!
