The Center for Research on Population and Health (CRPH) at AUB leads a research project entitled: "Healthy Kitchens, Healthy Children: A school-based cluster randomized controlled trial", which aims to assess the effectiveness of a community-based intervention linking community kitchens to school food programs. CRPH is working in various Palestinian camps including Chatila, where they have established a Healthy Kitchen with the Baraem Association for Relief and Social Care. CCECS led refurbishment works of the Healthy Kitchen, which was successfully completed in early November 2015. The kitchen now provides employment opportunities for Palestinian women, who have been working to provide daily healthy meals to 450 students attending UNRWA schools.
