Bio
Jennifer C. Olmsted, Consultant at CIBL for Women at the Olayan School of Business, American University of Beirut. She grew up on the beautiful American University of Beirut campus, which shaped her interests and career choices. Her undergraduate studies were completed at Georgetown University (BS in Foreign Service), and she then completed a Master’s in Agricultural Economics and a PhD in Economics from the University of California, Davis, with a focus in labor, development and Middle East economics. Dr. Olmsted has published in the Journal of Middle East Women’s Studies, Feminist Economics, History of the Family, Industrial Relations, Journal of Development Studies, Women’s Studies International Forum, and World Development. She has also consulted with several United Nations entities, including ESCWA, UNDP and UN Women, and she recently completed a report focusing gender and livelihoods in the context of the Syria response.
