Instructions for Graduation Candidates

2021 GRADUATES
PLEASE NOTE


Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering and Architecture (MSFEA) and Suliman S. Olayan School of Business (OSB)

MSEFA and OSB Rehearsals | Wednesday, September 1, 2021 | Green Field | 5:00 pm
MSEFA and OSB candidates for graduation must attend the commencement rehearsal at the Green Field on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. Candidates should report for line-up by 5:00 pm.

MSEFA and OSB Commencement Day | Saturday, September 4, 2021 | Green Field | 7:30 pm The Commencement Ceremony for the Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering and Architecture and the Suliman S. Olayan School of Business will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 7:30 pm.

 

Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) and Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences (FAFS) 

FAS and FAFS Rehearsals | Thursday, September 2, 2021 | Green Field | 5:00 pm
FAS and FAFS candidates for graduation must attend the commencement rehearsal at the Green Field on Thursday, September 2, 2021. Candidates should report for line-up by 5:00 pm.

FAS and FAFS Commencement Day | Friday, September 3, 2021 | Green Field | 7:30 pm
The Commencement Ceremony for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 7:30 pm.

 

Rehearsal Program:

The rehearsal program will be as follows:

• 5:00 - 5:30 pm – Line-up rehearsal
• 5:30 - 6:00 pm – Procession and seating rehearsal
• 6:00 - 6:30 pm – Diploma distribution rehearsal
• 6:30 - 7:00 pm – Q&A session

Rehearsals are expected to end by 7:00 pm.

Important Note:  On Commencement Day candidates should report for line-up by 6:00 pm.

Candidates who arrive later than 6:00 pm will not be allowed to join the procession.

 

DIPLOMAS

During the Commencement Ceremony, empty diploma jackets will be distributed to all graduating students.

On Commencement Day, faculty marshals will take attendance in alphabetical order. Seating will start immediately after attendance has been taken.


Candidates who arrive later than 7:00 pm will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.


ACADEMIC REGALIA

All candidates are required to wear the appropriate academic regalia (GOWN, CAP, and HOOD) for the ceremony. It is recommended that all candidates wear plain colors. No jewelry or decoration should be worn on the graduation gown.

VIRTUAL ATTENDEES

Virtual candidates will have their picture (if available), degree, and honor displayed on the screen. Names will be read in alphabetical order.


COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES AND VACCINATION

The ceremony is limited to students only. Parents and guests will not be allowed on campus on graduation days.

Please note that to be able to attend the ceremony in person, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Following the safety guidelines issued by the Expert Committee on COVID-19, you are requested to keep your mask on during the ceremony. Social distancing measures will be in effect during the ceremony.  ​

The event will be livestreamed on AUB's YouTube and Facebook channels.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Authorized photographers and videographers will be covering the entire ceremony.

 

PARKING

Kindly note that there will be no parking and no valet service at AUB on September 1, 2, 3, and 4.

We care about your health and well-being. AUB is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is prohibited on campus.
