  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. The University encourages freedom of thought and expression and seeks to graduate men and women committed to creative and critical thinking, lifelong learning, personal integrity, civic responsibility, and leadership.

  AUB is accredited in the US by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and includes six faculties: Arts and Sciences, Medicine, Engineering and Architecture, Agricultural and Food Sciences, Health Sciences, and Business. AUB offers more than 130 programs leading to bachelor's, master's, MD, and PhD degrees. The main language of instruction is English.

The Evidence-based Healthcare Management Unit (EHMU ) is a cross-disciplinary research unit based at the American University of Beirut (AUB), and that fosters collaboration between departments and faculties at AUB and other universities and hospitals.

We are anchored in our community through the healthcare management research we conduct in hospitals across Lebanon, which contributes to improving the management of hospitals, the development of healthcare professionals, and the experience of patients.

ADILLA 2019

Research Partnership

EHMU conducts research to understand the hospital ecosystem targeting three main stakeholder groups: Physicians, nurses, and hospital managers. EHMU also fosters collaboration between departments and faculties at AUB and other universities and hospitals.

Management Support

We provide management support service for the healthcare community at large, in which EHMU assists hospitals to focus on their deficiencies and guide them through the process of quality improvement.

Mentorship

We mentor post-graduate students (AUB or non-AUB) and interns interested in projects related to healthcare management.
