How do I get my jab?

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​How do you get the f​irst dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine?​

​1) Register on the Covax MOPH platform (https://covax.moph.gov.lb/impactmobile/vaccine) in order for you to be able to take the vaccine. You will be asked to show the SMS (text message) that you will receive from the MOPH indicating your effective registration.​

2) Book your vaccination appointment.

  • A​UB Community (faculty, staff, students, dependents) bit.ly/AUBeVaccinated.
  • Extended community, including domestic workers, individuals with disabilities and special needs (above the age of 16), taxi drivers and public transport drivers, school students between age 16 and 18 years, adults of age 48 years and above: bit.ly/AUBeVext.

​​3) Check your AUB email account regularly as you will receive an invitation from the Vaccination Working Group (vaxwg@aub.edu.lb) with important details about your vaccination turn.

4) Visit the AUBMC vaccination center (ACC building) on the day and time you selected to get a jab - Be ready to show the following:

    • A valid identification document (driving license, passport, identity card, residency permit)
    • For the AUB community: AUB ID for faculty, staff, and students*
    • The text message indicating your registration on the COVAX platform from the MOPH
    • The booking confirmation email from the AUB Vaccination Working Group​

 

​​How do you get the se​​cond dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine?​​

You should receive your second dose between 21 and 42 days after the first dose.

1) Follow the weekly campaign updates on this website, email, and on the official AUB social media pages to learn when the next vaccination drive will take place.

2) Once you receive an automatic text message from the MOPH platform, you will receive another text message from AUBMC Immunization center indicating when you can pass by and take the second shot. 

3) Visit the AUBMC vaccination center (ACC building) on the day and time indicated in the invitation to get a jab

    • valid identification document (driving license, passport, identity card, residency permit)
    • For the AUB community:​ AUB ID for faculty, staff, and students*
    • The text message indicating your registration on the COVAX platform from the MOPH
    • The second dose invitation SMS received from AUBMC or COVAX or the booking confirmation email from the AUB Vaccination Working Group​

If you are a student or faculty member who has a valid reason for receiving the first or second dose of the vaccine early (for example travel, or medical necessity), please contact the AUBMC safety office at: aubmc_safety@aub.edu.lb

*Dependents (parents, grandparents, partners, siblings, children (above the age of 12), son-in-law, sister-in-law, etc., and domestic workers living with AUB staff and faculty members or parents, grandparents, and siblings of all AUB Students): Please be accompanied by your AUB faculty, staff, student member to prove your identity.


​​Have ​​​you received a vaccine outside AUBMC?​​

If you have received an immunization certificate from another institution in Lebanon or abroad, send your certificate (e.g., EU “Green Pass", QR code scan in PDF or image) to vaxwg@aub.edu.lb, so that you could be granted access to campus in the Fall semester.


Have you got a re​cent COVID-19 infection?​​​

If you got infected with COVID-19 in July and August 2021, you will be granted campus access in September, as you will be at a low risk of reinfection. However, you should schedule your vaccination, as soon as you can safely take the COVID-19 vaccine​.


Hav​​e you medical conditions preventing you from taking the vaccine?​​

If your healthcare provider has recommended not to take the vaccine, please submit this documentation to vaxwg@aub.edu.lb, so that you could be granted access to campus in the Fall semester.​
